Quick Projects: Hanging Entertainment Shelf

Sometimes it’s good to just walk around the hardware store and see what products are out there. Ideas for projects can come from seeing random things.  A while back I was walking through one of the ideas at Home Depot and saw some flat bike hooks and an idea hit me to make a hanging entertainment shelf that will hang under the table my television sits on.

I bought 7 of them, they were fairly inexpensive at about $3 a pop.  I also cruised over to the plywood area to get some MDF. The MDF would match the legs of my table nicely nice it is a nice light/sturdy wood product.  There were also 2′ x 4′ sheets for sale so it was going to work perfectly for what I needed.

I marked on the underside of the table where the 2′ x 4′ shelf would be and then simply screwed in the bike hooks and VIOLA, a hanging shelf for all the my TV electronics.  The shelf is both functional and fits with the modern lines of the table it hangs from.  You gotta love a good quick project.
